Built on artificial intelligence and integrated into existing school platforms, the project aims to enhance students\u2019 experiences by providing real-time support, practical information, and personalised guidance. By fostering inclusion, improving communication, and encouraging community connection, CampusCompass supports a smoother transition and a more fulfilling international learning journey.<\/p>                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"fact-sheet-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"fact-sheet-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <p><strong>Challenge<br \/><\/strong><\/p><p>International students frequently face a range of barriers when studying abroad. Language remains a major obstacle, both in the classroom and in daily interactions. Many students feel excluded or isolated, struggling to build connections with peers or access key information about campus life and local resources. These difficulties can affect academic performance, reduce confidence, and create a sense of disconnection from the broader community.<\/p><p><strong>Target Groups: <\/strong><\/p><p>The project primarily serves Erasmus and exchange students who may be unfamiliar with their host country\u2019s language, systems, or culture. It also indirectly supports facilitators\u2014including teachers, non-teaching staff, and school administrators\u2014who often lack the resources or training to respond to the diverse needs of international learners.<\/p><p><strong>Solution<br \/><\/strong><\/p><p>CampusCompass addresses these issues through a multilingual AI assistant tailored to the student experience. The assistant offers real-time translation, transcription, and personalised recommendations based on individual profiles. It helps students manage academic tasks, understand administrative processes, explore the city, find part-time jobs, and engage in cultural and social events. By combining practical assistance with cultural orientation, the tool fosters autonomy, confidence, and belonging.<\/p><p><strong>Innovation<br \/><\/strong><\/p><p>What sets CampusCompass apart is its holistic, learner-centred design. It not only supports academic success but also strengthens the link between students and their new environment. The assistant acts as a bridge\u2014connecting students with opportunities on campus and in the community\u2014while adapting its support to the needs, habits, and goals of each user. It reimagines integration through digital inclusion, offering a scalable and sustainable model for international education.<\/p><p><strong>Impact<br \/><\/strong><\/p><p>CampusCompass helps students feel less lost, more empowered, and better prepared to thrive in a new context. It reduces the time spent searching for information, increases engagement in campus life, and improves academic performance. For institutions, the tool enhances inclusiveness, strengthens support services, and builds a more connected learning community.
