Dr. Maja Petrović is an Associate Professor at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences (UNS FTN), in the Department of Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety Engineering (Chair of Environmental Protection Engineering). Her main areas of expertise, reflected in the courses she teaches, include: Environmental Monitoring in Industrial and Clean Energy Systems, Environmental and Occupational Monitoring in Industrial and Clean Energy Systems, Design and Implementation of Environmental Management Systems, Methodology of Instrumental Analysis of Water and Air, Technical Chemistry, Engineering Chemistry, Chemical Principles in Environmental Engineering
Since January 2012, Dr. Petrović has served as the Head of the accredited Laboratory for Environmental and Occupational Monitoring. She is the author or co-author of more than 200 scientific papers, including 17 published in peer-reviewed SCI journals. Dr. Petrović has been involved in over 20 national and international projects, including those funded by NATO Science for Peace, TEMPUS, ERASMUS, COST, and IPA programs. Currently, she manages three Erasmus+ projects. Two focus on the digital transformation of courses related to environmental and occupational safety and health (KA2 – Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices, KA226 – Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness). The third is part of the Jean Monnet Action and addresses the challenges and opportunities in implementing regulations on environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and labor relations, drawing on best practices from the European Union. Dr. Petrović is a certified lead auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 standards and is registered with TÜV NORD as an external evaluator. She also serves as a technical evaluator for the Accreditation Body of Serbia.
